Did you give yourself erectile dysfunction? Did you see a TV ad, look at ingredients, and try to buy a product thinking you might experience a better erection or a more fulfilling sexual encounter? Did you read on the internet and try buying a vitamin or herb or other supplement that promised to give you a super-penis or a massive load or the ability to be hard for hours? Think about this because I know my body’s reaction to several “man boosting substances” is the opposite of what I was expecting. Tribulus kills my drive. L-Arginine blocks my erection at 75%. Panax Ginseng kills my drive. Pygeum gives me a week of difficulty with erections, drive and urination. Do any of those sound familiar?
So yes, this is a serious question. Did you give yourself erectile dysfunction? The TV is a powerful tool of suggestion and the ads with the attractive women who need to be satisfied and you wanting to be the man capable of that satisfaction can lead you down the wrong path and can lead you to causing your own erection problems.
Once that problem starts, now you are in your own head. You think you have an issue and you are looking for answers. So you start searching while thinking, “I never thought this would happen to me.” You come across a website promising to give you back what you have lost. This site tells you all about the products that will boost your drive and boost your erection. You buy the popular recommended products and try them all and nothing. You feel nothing. Most importantly, you feel no sexual desire, no drive, and you have no wood. At this point the psychological damage starts to take its toll. You think you need something special. You search more and come across terrible advice from people who have never tried the products that they are selling. You’re sure this new miracle pill that has several proven testosterone boosters and estrogen reducers is just the thing. 2 days into your bottle you are feeling some drive and you are relieved…then things crash again and the drive is gone. Sound familiar? I went through this nightmare too.
What you really need is the proper diet, exercise, rest, and possibly supplementation. Though the first 3 matter the most. Remember this may have all started by thinking you needed supplementation when your body was still working normally.
You can have your doctor check your testosterone levels if you feel you really have an issue. It’s just a blood test and it’s worth it to know where you stand in this fight. While diet, excercise, and sleep might fix your sex drive, the psychological aspects of your body not working at times might be lessened by knowing your T level.
I go into this in more detail in my ebook, “Title”.
